Health Care Weight Management Stress Exercise Wellness Talks Sources

Recommended Sources

We would recommend sources as below where you can get foods, green products, supplements and information that will make you more healthy.

Food
The most important store is the grocery store. When you shop for food, look for fresh, unprocessed food like fruits and vegetables. Try to buy local produce when available. You should avoid beef and if possible try to get most of your protein from milk, beans, legumes and nuts. You should avoid foods with refined carbohydrates like cookies, baked goods, potatoes chips, cheesies, pasta, rice and potatoes. Also avoid transfats which are found in baked goods, snack foods and french fries. Stores that we would recommend are Food Basics and Bulk Barn.

Green - non toxic home cleaning, personal care and beauty products
Try to use non toxic home cleaning, personal care and beauty products. One of the best companies we have found for safe, non-toxic products is Melaleuca, The Wellness Company which you may find at http://www.melaleuca.com. You may buy directly from their web site or by calling 1-800-282-3000. You may receive products at reduced prices by becoming a member.

Cod Liver Oil
We would also recommend that you take a 1 gram capsule or 1 tsp of cod liver oil each day in the colder months of the year. The bottle should be labeled with the amount of DHA, EPA, Vitamin D and Vitamin A. One of the best brands we can recommend is Carlsons which you should be able to find in most health stores.

Vitamin D
If you are concerned about the high levels of Vitamin A in Cod Liver Oil, you may order pure vitamin D (D3 - Cholecalciferol) from Biotech. This brand is recommended by the Vitamin D Council which is the leading scientific authority on Vitamin D.

Multi Vitamin Supplement
We also would recommend that you take a multi-vitamin supplement each day. Look for a multi-vitamin that absorbs well. Discount vitamins (One-a-Day, Centrum) often absorb at less than 10%. Chelated vitamins (Jamiesons) absorb at about 30%. One of the highest absorbing multi-vitamins is the Vitality Multivitamin from Melaleuca, The Wellness Company which absorbs at over 90%. You may buy directly from their web site at http://www.melaleuca.com or by calling 1-800-282-3000. You may receive products at reduced prices by becoming a member.
